So before I get started, this is not a gambler's report. I am too uptight with cash to gamble too much haha. Here goes.
My boyfriend decided to take me to Vegas for my birthday, so we managed to book the Luxor at a good rate. We had the evening flight from DTW to LAS, flight was fine, Gus was a bit nervous. I have to say I love take off. So arrived at 9pm Las Vegas time, which was 12 our time, so I was pretty tired needless to say.
We got a cab to the hotel (went Swenson, not tunnel) and it was pretty speedy, the city looked BOOMING!
Arrived at Luxor and was blown away, we went to Cleveland earlier this summer and boy, WHAT A DIFFERENCE :-)
Luxor is so nice.
We got to the clerk and he was VERY helpful he asked if we wanted a room in the pyramid or towers, and I jumped on the chance for the tower room... holy crap!! it was gorgeous. i knew that the pyramid only had showers and the towers had baths and shower.. bathroom was so gorgeous, we had a nice view of excalibur and san remo and the mountain that looked like someone lying down.
Ok so pretty boring night, we just chilled in the room.
Tuesday we got up super early, since we are used to getting up early, but it was 6am! why couldn't we sleep in later? hello cause it was 9 our time.
We got up, headed over to excalibur to the mcd's and had breakfast, yes, we are uncultured baffoons, whatever!
So we walked around and Gus wanted to see the sign Welcome to Las Vegas, so me the smartie pants that I am, thought it was up by the STARDUST!!!!!!!
So we walked from our hotel basically all the way up the strip, got to Frontier at like 10am and went in for a 1.99 margarita... yum! played a little video blackjack and basically won enough to pay for our drinks. We took the drink with us and asked a lady where the sign was. That's when we found out, WE ARE DUMB. The sign was on the other side of MANDALAY BAY!!! of course on coming into the city! duh!! so we walked all the way back stopping in at all the hotels on caesars side of the strip on the way back, we checked out stores and stuff.. we rode the roller coaster at NY NY which Gus was apprehensive of, but it was fun. Not the best roller coaster in the world but.. then we walked down to the sign. Mental note to self don't walk so freaking much!! our feet were so sore. We walked back to Luxor and watched Big Brother (can't live without our reality tv) and slept.
Wednesday we got up, had mcd's for breakfast and went to the MGM to catch the monorail which was finally up and running. We took it straight out to Sahara and walked over to Bonanza and the up to the Stratosphere. We went to the top and checked out Vegas from like 900 feet.. WICKED!!!!!
by the way X scream the teeter totter ride is CRAZY!
ok, so we went back to Sahara to take the Monorail down the strip and make stops along the way.. BUT.. it had broken down AGAIN. We were less then impressed but then we found out it was a bombardier and they are a cdn co. OOPS!
so we snagged a cab back to Luxor and chilled in our room.
we were gonna go to a show but we fell asleep, oh well.
Thursday got up had mcdee's for breakfast and went to NYNY and caught a street car, got an all day pass..
So we took it to Harrah's and went to Venetian from there. We found the gondolas and went for a ride, it was quite romantic but the "driver" and two ladies from jersey shore made Gus and I kiss under the bridge, HEHE BLUSH!!
After that we walked over to Madame Tussaud's wax museum. It was neat, very freaky, we expected the wax people to move.. took some crazy pics with some of the celebrity wax forms and went on to Paris and went up the eifel tower, had a good laugh at the american trying to speak french, then we proceeded to go to Alladin and saw the rain storm thingy, it was kewl. then we got outside and there actually was rain.. we went to go get a buffet at boardwalk and umm we turned around and left... they had NOTHING. We went to the buffet at Excalibur and oh boy!! i loved it!!!! they had EVERYTHING!!!
we went back to our room or should i say rolled back and chilled and napped. Then we got up later went to the Mirage on the street car to see the volcano, then saw the fountains at bellagio... then home to bed..last night.. boo!
friday got up early had mcdee's for breakfast HAHA we did it the WHOLE TRIP!!!
checked out, checked our bags and went over to MGM saw the lions.. that exhibit is real cool and close to the lions.. we went to the M&M shop and watched a movie so we could get free M&M's hehe.. and went to the coke store and went tropicana and got some free stuff on the free spin.. then we headed back to the hotel to get our bags and head home. we were early for our flight but we couldn't think of anything else we wanted to see really. flight was good, i slept the whole way Gus was a little nervous cause of the turbulence and at first i was also but then i slept. NOTE don't let women have room or they will try and take all the room as i did on the plane hehe.
got home to DTW and my aunt and uncle picked us up at 530am!! they are WICKED and that was it.
Vegas is kewl, but i expected the slots to be like different there. hehe
