Primary reason for the trip was the Bally's slot tournament on March 31st. Bally's offered two nights lodging & entry into the tourny for $99 - too good to pass up. Decided to make a full week of it so we booked Casion Royale for the first two days. Our daughter stays there whenever she goes to Vegas and gets comps for free rooms all the time so we decided to try it out. Casino Royale is not a luxury hotel by any means but the room was clean and comfortable. We really enjoyed the central location. In the past, we have spent most of our time roaming the East side of the stip between the Venetian and the Barbary Coast so it made sense to stay in that area. This area has the highest concentration of places to stay and gamble as any stretch on the strip. Bally's is alway nice and close to the area we like to frequent. Gambling was brutal this trip, no matter where we tried. During the entire week I only had two semi successfull trips to the craps tables where I came away with a litte more then I started - other then that disaster. Black Jack, Let it Ride, Roulette - you name it - they took it from me and took it quick. I'm still trying to figure out how a Black Jack dealer can hit 5 Black Jacks in a row. Took in two shows during the stay: Gordie Brown at the Golden Nugget was FANTASTIC! Ninty minutes of talent and energy. His show is worth the trip downtown. At Bally's we booked Jubilee - Looking forward to seeing one of the last Las Vegas production shows we came away somewhat disappointed. Won't do that type of show again. Food wise, one of the best Italian dinners we've ever had anywhere was at IL Mulino located in the Caesars Palace Forum Shop area. Be prepared to spend some $$$$ - but worth it.
