Hotel Stayed At: Circus Circus

Report by: Gail <>
From: Monroe, LA
This was my husband's first trip to Vegas. He can be very touchy when it comes to vacations so I was anxiously awaiting the trip. Anyway,we planned our trip through Vegas.com and flew with America West from Dallas. Our first hurdle was our seating arrangements. I planned the trip in late February and paid for it at that time. June finally arrived and I called to confirm and get our seat assignments etc. Well, guess what the agent hadn't assigned us seats, so another agent had to scramble and find seats. Of course we didn't have seats together, so we had to wait for airport check-in and get our seat assignments. We also had to get airport checkin seat assignments on the trip from Vegas. Not a problem, we ended up with pretty decent seats. Also, I made a change to my reservation and the hotel showed our reservations as cancelled. Thank goodness I called ahead and found this out also. Not a problem, Neal had that straightened out pretty quickly and gave us a room upgrade in return. We stayed in the West Tower on the 9th floor above the registration desk. The west tower rooms were adequate for the price. Not to crowded and not a lot of overpriced, flashy, unused bells and whistles. The only concern was with the air conditioning in the room, it was comfortable, but couldn't be adjusted. At night it tended to get a little warm from time to time. All in all, we were quite pleased with Circus Circus West Tower. The Pink Pony had good food. The circus Buffet (breakfast) was quite good. Of course Krispy Kreme donuts were very good. We only ate a late breakfast and an early dinner each day we were there. I met my brother at the Palace Station brunch on Saturday morning and didn't find that food to be as good as the Circus breakfast. However, as with everything else the food taste is subjective. We had no problem picking up our rental car from Avis, no problem with returning the car, no problem checking in our out of the hotel and no problem with the flights or with parking at the hotel. Even my husband enjoyed the trip and we will definitely be returning. I know that the Circus Circus is one of the cheaper hotels, but cheaper isn't necessarily a bad thing in Vegas. We had a very good experience. Of course, we didn't strike it rich, but we didn't break the bank either.
