Las Vegas Trip Report

I will be as brief as possible. I have been reading these for years and this is my first report. I would love to hear peoples opinions on what I have to say.
The Flamingo itself is a great spot. We got the new room on the 20th floor, VERY NICE! All the staff, OUTSTANDING. The casino itself, nice but getting worn but I don't mind that and that is why I decided to write this report.
Vegas has changed big time. My first time was in 86. Since I have been out there 20-25 times. It is becoming a white collar city. There are no more $6.99 steak and lobster, $1.99 steak and eggs, free drinks in tha casino (unless you have credits on a machine) and they will check it before they pour you one. We were there during the Consumer electronics convention (140,000 atendees) the biggest, and the casinos were DEAD. The payoffs on video Keno have dropped, the bar keep at Bugsy's bar said 3 years ago he paid 50- 60 Royal flushes a month- now he pays 3-4. The bigger and newer Casino employees are rude. Ninety percent of these people are Asian, Plillipino, Mexican and can't speak English. When I travel to Mexico, I don't expect them to speak English, I'm going into their country! They are drawing in these huge conventions. They know these people have allowances for food and all though the Restaurants are great, they are very expensive and they are looking for the big businesses at these conventions to wine and dine so they can rake bigger profits. I know it's a business but they are taking away what made them what they are today.
It is the first time in 22 years that I can say I didn't have a great time. It was fun gambling and seeing my buddies but it was sad to see this Great City changing for what I think is the down turn. I live in St. louis and we have 7 local casino's within a 25 mile radius and they all pay better odds and give better comps BY FAR!!!
I Probably won't go as often anymore but when I do I will now take my golf clubs and definitely play more table games than I usualy do. I would love to hear your remarks.
