We checked into THEHotel at Mandalay Bay. I won’t go into great detail about the room as everything that others have said is true. Rooms are awesome, service was great. If you get the opportunity to stay at this hotel I would strongly recommend the experience. We ended up on the 30th floor in a corner room with a view of the strip. We got an internet rate through LasVegas.com for $169 per night.
We ate at House of Blues in MB. Food was very good and reasonable. Went to the 8:30 Midnight Fantasy show at Luxor. The show was entertaining. It worked well for our schedule and location.
Left THEHotel and headed to Bellagio. We were attending a conference there and got a conference rate of $189 per night. The room was very nice, but certainly a step down from THEHotel. One thing about the Bellagio, there are a lot of people there all the time. The place was very busy and lots of people just walking through! Check-in took about 30 minutes (11:30 a.m.) but we were given our room right away. We were on the 11th floor with a view of the pools. Most of the restaurants in Bellagio are pretty expensive even for basic eats. We went across the street to Paris and ate at the St. Louis French Café (or something like that). The food was excellent. Our lunch bill was about $25 including soft drinks. We spent the rest of the afternoon shopping in Paris and Caesar’s. We went to Casino Royale and played $2 craps and had a great time. I think we won about $30+. We ate dinner at Cheese Cake Factory at Caesar’s. Great meal! We had about a 30 min. wait for our table. Went next door to Fat Tuesday’s and had a daiquiri while we waited for our table. After dinner we walked across the street to Casino Royale for more $2 craps. I think we won another $30-$40.
We spent the day at the conference. We had tickets to Celine Dion. I am not a huge fan, but I have to say this show is excellent and worth every penny. We sat in the balcony in the front row. Following the show we caught a cab and headed downtown. The line for a cab after the show as a 30-40 min. So, we took a less than 5 min. walk across the street to Barbary Coast and got a cab right away. We got to Fremont Street in time to see the 11:00 Fremont Street Experience. The show was fun and entertaining. I think we went to four or five casinos and looked around. Played $5 craps at Golden Nugget and lost about $30. Headed back to Bellagio around 12:00ish.
More time at the conference. We moved across the street to Aladdin ($189 per night) as the rates at Bellagio jumped to $400 per night for the same room because it was a weekend. The Aladdin was certainly a let down after THEHotel and Bellagio. The room was average, but the bathroom was big. It was fine for our needs. Friday night we ate at the Pamplemousse Restaurant (French) which is a across the street from the Sahara Hotel. The meal was excellent and priced fairly ($50 per person for a great salad, appetizers, entrée and dessert). Our meal would have been double if it had been in one of the big hotels.
