Bags almost beat us to baggage check and no lines at cab stand! We arrived and checked in at Harrah's again no line at check in so we were in a room by 8:20 local time..not too bad! As we had grabbed a light dinner in Pgh there was no need to eat so we went out and lost our allocated monies for Saturday. We are not sophisticated gamblers so we normally play slots typically playing anything from .01 to $1.00..Went to room slept like a baby.
Sun Oct 14: Up at 7AM local time went down and tried Flavors Buffet at HARRAH'S for breakfast nice selection of foods available always a good choice. We are cost conscience (Read that CHEAP!) so we plan on getting the Buffet of Buffets Pass Total Rewards $44.99 24/HR to cover today's dinner and tomorrow's breakfast and dinner. Walked the strip for a while playing slots here and there -not really winning anything. Head to Westin Casuarina Hotel Showroom as we have tickets for Brian Hoffman's Remembering Red. Brought back childhood memories of watching Red Skelton on TV, good show proves you don't have to be foul mouthed to be funny!!We then went over to Planet Hollywood to get our buffet pass..on the way got suckered into watching a 'new' 22 minute tv show and rating it for Neilson and $10. An hour and a half later we got our passes and proceeded to the Spice Market Buffet PLANET HOLLYWOOD good selection and food was very good. Headed back toward Harrah's lost the rest of today's money ..went to bed.
Mon Oct 15: Up 7AM again..tried Paradise Garden Buffet at the the FLAMINGO but line not moving at all (for 20 minutes!) So we head to the Emperor's Buffet at the IMPERIAL PALACE 'no line here'food ok not as good as some but good enough for breakfast. Again walk the strip today?lose money here ?lose money there. Hit all the casinos on either side of Harrah?s..Wife wins a little at Imperial Palace..tough to get into with all the construction going on there!! We also try the free slot tournament tha IP offers on a daily basis.
Later we go to Bally's to grab the free shuttle to the Rio. We have dinner at the Carnival World Buffet RIO excellent choice great food. Head back to the strip and lose the rest of today's money.
Tue Oct 16: Meeting some family for breakfast at the shuttle outside Bill's Gambling Hall, grab first days shuttle and head to the Ports O' Call Buffet Gold Coast Casino for breakfast. At $5.99 a with slot card, one of the best deals close to the strip for breakfast. Played a little at the Gold Coast then headed back to strip, visited with family for a while then continued quest to lose all my money! Went to Harrah's to see Big Elvis Piano Lounge Harrah's does 3 shows a day the for FREE! Rated as one of the 10 Best Elvis Impersonators..we always stop to see him..he is really good!! We then head to Ellis Island Casino Restaurant Ellis Island Casino for dinner, they have an unadvertised special $6.99 steak dinner. Steak was excellent and the home brewed rootbeer was also good. They have a micro-brewery there where they brew there own beers and rootbeer. We have show tickets so we now head to the BeatleShow! PH's Saxe Theater, We were able to get discount tickets through the internet, excellent entertaining show ..these guys were good!! Wife met up with a friend later at Harrah's she is the one with all the luck?she had accumulated over $7K at the ARIA.and when the wife found her in Harrah's she had just hit a $1K jackpot there!!
Wed Oct 17: Breakfast at Ports O' Call Buffet Gold Coast Casino again (remember said I was cheap) Checked out of room and put bags at baggage check are until we were ready to leave for our 5:20 flight home. Walked around at the strip checked the flamingo's out at the Flamongo garden area and headed for the airport..uneventfull flight home, although the pilot did said he was gonna fly the plane like he stole it. Hmm we did get home early!! Another nice trip to Vegas!!!
